Google Mobile Map
There is absolutely no doubt that Google mobile map is the most popular piece of software in the market. Using the power of their brand, Google have created a product that is used by millions worldwide and the main reason for this is because it is embedded in their main search program. The Google Maps tab appears on every search page and allows users to easily locate addresses and plot directions across any route in the world.
Following the success of the desktop version of the software, it didn’t take long for Google developers to release one for the mobile platform. In 2006, the company released a Java program and this benefited from many of the features seen in the regular desktop version. However, the big move was a year later and after Google released a new version of the product, interest in it intensified. Unlike many competing applications, the Google mobile map software did not require a GPS receiver meaning that the device could function on the majority of mobile phones.
The application is often compared with Google Earth, which is seen as a much more comprehensive piece of software. The main difference is that due to the technology that Google Maps utilises, certain areas such as the poles are not covered whereas they are featured in Google Earth. However, Earth is limited to just a select range of platforms, meaning that Google Maps has become the more popular application out of the two.

As explained above, Google Maps runs on practically every mobile phone with all of the following platforms being supported:
