Chrome Mobile Map

Google Chrome may be becoming an increasingly popular piece of software, yet at the moment it does not contain any mobile map functionality. Since being first released in 2008, Chrome has established itself as a popular web browser amongst PC users. However, there is no mobile map named Chrome although the platform does allow third party applications to run in the browser.

While Google Chrome is not a mobile map, Google do produce other products that can be branded into this category. Google Maps and Google Earth are both mobile map applications that have become hugely popular in recent years. What’s more, there is an application for Google Chrome that allows Google Maps to be integrated into it to allow for easier use.

Google Maps

After first being released in 2006, Google Maps for the mobile platform has grown tremendously. The application is the most popular in the market, with this mainly down to the fact that devices such as the iPhone and Android systems arrive with the application pre-installed. However, even without this aid, Google Maps is still very popular with the software benefiting from the following feature set:

Users are now provided with voice commands for their journey.
The application possesses an advanced favourites system, allowing users to store the locations that they visit the most.

Google Earth

This application arrived on the mobile platform slightly later, with Google Earth being available for download since 2008. It would be fair to say that Google do not place as much emphasis on this software, with just two systems in the Android and iPhone being supported. Google Maps Integration In Google Chrome

Developers have released an extension for Google Chrome called Mini Google Maps. This allows users to easily access the Maps application through Chrome and while the feature set is slightly less advanced compared to the main version, some users will still find it very useful. While there is no such thing as a standalone Chrome Mobile Map, Google do have plenty of other options available in their Google Maps and Google Earth applications. With Google Chrome users being able to download a Google Maps extension, the company have at least made it possible to combine the two pieces of software.
